These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Trusted Pet Parents website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Platform”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
Trusted Pet Parents operates a peer-to-peer, community-based pet-care marketplace. Qualified members can both provide care to earn service credits (“Pet Credits”) and book care by spending those credits. Cash payments cover a platform booking fee; an internal ledger tracks service credits. Trusted Pet Parents is a neutral venue that connects members; it is not a party to the care arrangements members make with one another.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform. Access to provide or book care requires completing our qualification process, which includes identity verification and a criminal-records background check performed through our third-party providers. We may decline, suspend, or revoke access based on the results of these checks or for any lawful reason.
You are responsible for the information you provide and for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secure and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.
Pet Credits are a platform feature used to exchange care between members. Pet Credits have no cash value, are not legal tender, are not redeemable for money, and cannot be transferred, sold, or withdrawn except as expressly provided on the Platform. We may adjust credit balances to correct errors, reverse fraudulent or disputed activity, or enforce these Terms.
Bookings require a platform booking fee, charged in currency through our third-party payment processor. By providing a payment method, you authorize us and our processor to charge the applicable fees. Fees are calculated at the time of booking and shown to you before you confirm. Except where required by law or expressly stated in our cancellation and refund policy, booking fees are non-refundable.
When you request or accept a booking, you agree to the service details, schedule, and any handoff steps shown on the Platform. Cancellations and refunds are governed by the policy presented during booking, which may vary based on timing. Members are responsible for communicating and honoring the arrangements they make.
You agree that you will:
Care is provided directly between members. Trusted Pet Parents does not provide pet-care services, does not supervise care, and does not guarantee the conduct, qualifications, or reliability of any member beyond the verification steps described in our policies. Interacting with animals carries inherent risks. You participate at your own risk and are responsible for your own decisions, your pets, and any pets in your care.
You are responsible for content you submit, including reviews, messages, photos, and profile details, and you represent that you have the right to share it. Content must be honest, lawful, and not infringing or abusive. You grant Trusted Pet Parents a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display your content for the purpose of operating the Platform. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
You agree not to:
Disputes arising from care arrangements are primarily between the members involved. We may, at our discretion, offer tools to raise and review disputes and may adjust credits or bookings in response, but we are not obligated to resolve disputes and are not responsible for members’ conduct.
By using the Platform you agree to receive service communications by email, in-app notification, web push, and, where you opt in and verify your number, SMS text message. Message and data rates may apply to SMS. You can manage or turn off most notifications in your account settings; certain account, security, and transaction messages may still be sent as part of operating the Platform.
The Platform, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Trusted Pet Parents and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trusted Pet Parents and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from care arrangements between members, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trusted Pet Parents and its affiliates from any claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Platform, your content, your care arrangements, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms, create risk or possible legal exposure, or for any lawful reason. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute not subject to alternative resolution.
